How long does it take to install a Radar unit or other electronic equipment?

Unfortunately, there is no "one size fits all" answer for this. The amount of time it takes to install a given piece of equipment depends primarily on the type of equipment and the size of the vessel it is to be installed on. Please feel free to contact us and we will provide you with an estimate based on your specific requirements.

Why can't I install my new electronics myself?

The simple answer is that you can if you feel comfortable making the appropriate connections and are satisfied with the subsequent warranty terms. The long answer is that the major electronics companies (Raymarine, Furuno, Navico) are starting to require that installations be certified by authorized installers and a minimum dollar amount of equipment be installed to qualify for On Board Warranty Service. In some cases, dealer installed and registered products can even get an additional year of warranty at no further charge to the customer. Also, with the new inter-unit communications and general complexity and functionality of today’s integrated electronics, the dealer installation and indoctrination may be a better idea. We will gladly answer any questions so that you can decide the best choice for you!
